Kampala, Uganda – September 25, 2025

Uganda is set to become the epicenter of international youth leadership and diplomacy as it hosts the Afro-Arab Youth Congress from October 6th to 10th, 2025, at Speke Resort Munyonyo. The historic event, which brings together Heads of State, continental leaders, and over 1,500 youth delegates, once again underscores President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s unmatched influence in positioning Uganda as a hub for Africa–Arab cooperation.

The Congress will be graced by Heads of State from the United Arab Emirates, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Guinea Bissau, and Guinea Conakry. Also attending are the Secretary General of the Arab League and the Chairperson of the African Union Commission—signaling the high-level recognition Uganda enjoys under Museveni’s leadership.

Thanks to the Host Country Agreement spearheaded by President Museveni, Uganda serves as the permanent home of the Afro-Arab Youth Council, with Museveni as its Patron. The Kampala summit will launch a historic fundraising drive to build the Council’s permanent headquarters in Uganda, a project that cements Museveni’s legacy as a continental statesman and visionary.

The headquarters master plan is nothing short of transformative: a University of Science and Technology to equip young people with modern skills, a three-star hotel, a cultural center to showcase Afro-Arab heritage, a modern sports stadium, and an administration block. These facilities will not only benefit Ugandan youth but will also stand as a beacon of opportunity across Africa and the Arab world.

Analysts note that the initiative reflects Museveni’s longstanding belief in empowering the youth as the engine of development. By hosting the Afro-Arab Youth Council and backing these ambitious projects, Museveni is reinforcing Uganda’s role as a continental leader in innovation, education, and cultural diplomacy.

Beyond infrastructure, the Afro-Arab Youth Congress will bring together over 1,500 young leaders and policymakers, including delegates from every district of Uganda. The interactions are expected to spark cross-border partnerships, business opportunities, and leadership networks that will shape the future of Africa and the Arab world.

Founded in 2004 in Sudan, the Afro-Arab Youth Council has become a formidable platform for youth advocacy, uniting leaders and organizations from across two continents. With its headquarters firmly rooted in Uganda, the Council’s growth is a direct testament to Museveni’s international credibility and strategic foresight.

As the world turns its eyes to Kampala, one thing is clear: President Museveni’s ability to attract global leaders, inspire youth-centered initiatives, and secure Uganda’s place on the international stage remains unrivaled. The Afro-Arab Youth Congress is not just an event—it is a reflection of Museveni’s enduring power and influence in shaping Africa’s destiny.
