Kitagwenda LCV aspirant declared unopposed

Efrance Kenyonyozi Atwongyere was yesterday declared unopposed as the LCV chairperson Kitagwenda district.

Kenyonyozi, who secured the NRM flag in the recently concluded NRM primary elections, becomes the first woman to lead Kitagwenda and the third chairperson since its inception in 2019.

She was yesterday declared unopposed by the Kitagwenda district returning officer Francis Kagoro after no any other candidate showed up during the last day of nominations for LCV seat.

Speaking short after her declaration, Efrance expressed excitement saying she will deliver according to public expectations.

Kenyonyonyozi told our reporter that her emphasis will be on fighting corruption, strengthening education sector and creating employment opportunities.

Meanwhile Happy Herbert Mayanja the LCV chairperson was also declared unopposed after no any other contender showed up yesterday. He will now wait to be sworn in February for his second term in office.
