“Kabale Top School in Hot Seat: Court Sets Date to Rule on Negligence Case”

The High Court in Uganda has scheduled June 11, 2025, to deliver its ruling in a case filed by businessman Tadeo Ruzindantaro against Bishop Asili Memorial Nursery and Primary School in Kabale municipality.

Ruzindantaro accuses the school of releasing his daughter, Bethany Nimurungi, to a stranger without his consent, leading to a five-year search.

In 2018, Bethany Nimurungi, a Primary Four pupil, daughter to Ruzindantaro disappeared under mysterious circumstances from Bishop Asili Memorial School.

Ruzindantaro later sued the school for negligence and emotional harm, seeking compensation for psychological trauma and emotional distress.

In 2023, Bethany was found in Manyangwa Village, Gayaza, Wakiso District, after investigations revealed she was picked up from school by her biological mother, Mercy Kirande, according to police reports.

However Ruzindantaro’s disputes the police report, alleging the school’s management participated in the “illegal” procedure and engaged in a media smear campaign against him.

In the matter, the School is represented by Justus Muhangi of Muhangi & Company Advocates represents the school while Ruzindantaro is represented by Tiwkirize Timothy of Twikirize & Co. Advocates and Masereka Godwin of Elgon Advocates.

And according to a Judgment Delivery Notice dated June 4, 2025, and signed by the Assistant Court Registrar, the ruling in the case of the two parties will now be delivered on June 11, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.
