How Security Tracked Down Killer Security Guard In Kanungu

KAMPALA

The fugitive security guard who shot his boss dead before fleeing with his expensive vehicle and cash was successfully tracked down while he planned to cross to Democratic Republic of Congo .

Hilary Byaruhanga, a private security guard working with Don World Security Limited, had allegedly shot and killed his boss , Mr Anthony Mutinisa 53 on Sunday and speed off with car and bag of unspecified amounts of cash.

According to security contacts, the Toyota Land cruiser V8 SUV, Registration number UA769 BQ had tracking system and other installations aiding the search

The mission was conducted by police, military intelligence and other sister organizations.

It’s highly expected that Byaruhanga who has been on the run since Sunday was working out quick modelities to cross the border to D R Congo.

For some time now expensive vehicles which are stollen and robbed in Uganda have been known to end on Congolese market and vice versa.

Byaruhanga had allegedly planned the same following the killing of Mutinisa, the proprietor of Mutinisa Motors.

But security followed him swiftly and by Monday evening he was in police hands

Uganda’s police spokesperson , Mr Kituuma Rusoke told media on that Byaruhanga was apprehended in Kanungu, where he had been hiding.

“He was arrested with another person Mark Akampa in Katwe Cell, Kihihi Town Council by police in Kanungu,” Rusoke said

Authorities say the arrest of both suspects will help them uncover more information about the motive behind the killing.

Information available now indicate that the murder and robbery was well planned because the suspect had time to

disable CCTV coverage by removing video footage, before fleeing.

To his workmates, Byaruhanga surprised them by what he did because he was a darling to his boss who even gave him a special treatment.

Security said the recovered SUV will be returned to the family, while cash recovered was still being accounted for.
