Rwakitura, Kiruhura – All eyes will tomorrow, Saturday 9th August 2025, turn to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s country home in Rwakitura as the First Family hosts what is set to be one of the most elegant traditional ceremonies of the year.
Tasha Kunzi Karugire, the first granddaughter of President Museveni and the beloved daughter of Natasha Museveni Karugire and businessman Edwin Karugire, will formally introduce her fiancé in a grand kwanjura ceremony steeped in tradition, culture, and family pride.
The lucky groom is none other than the son of Lt. Gen. Sam Kavuma, the commander of the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS). The couple, who have been in a long-term relationship, are now taking their love story to the next chapter, marking a rare moment where two influential families join hands in unity.
This will be no ordinary introduction — it is a historic first. Tasha is the very first grandchild of President Museveni to begin the journey of marriage, a milestone that carries deep emotional and cultural significance for the First Family. The event is expected to be graced by top government officials, military commanders, business leaders, close friends, and relatives, all eager to witness the beginning of this new family legacy.
Beyond the glamour and protocol, tomorrow’s kwanjura is set to symbolize more than just the union of two individuals — it will be a celebration of love, respect for tradition, and the passing on of family values to a new generation.
