Bunyaruguru, Rubirizi District – The political landscape of Bunyaruguru County is shifting as David Katureebe Tugume, son of former Chief Justice Bart Katureebe, has officially been nominated to contest for the NRM party flag in the upcoming parliamentary primaries.
Katureebe, who enters the race as the frontrunner, is set to face off with the incumbent MP Eng John Ntamuhira, who has served since 2016, and former MP Cadet Benjamin, who represented the constituency from 2011 to 2016.
But while his competitors rely on their past terms in office, Katureebe is banking on a fresh vision and a solid track record of community impact. Local sources reveal a growing appetite for new leadership in Bunyaruguru, with many voters expressing fatigue over the recycled leadership of Cadet and Ntamuhira.
A Vision Rooted in Action
David Katureebe is not just a new face—he is a tested servant leader. As the founder of the David Katureebe Foundation, he has spearheaded numerous community development initiatives across the county. Through the foundation, he currently supports over 400 students in various educational institutions—ranging from primary schools to universities—many of whom are pursuing elite courses such as medicine and law.
