The High Court in Kampala has nullified the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission’s decision that reinstated Orbed Ambikize as Chairperson of the NRM Youth League for Kagadi District, ruling that it was marred by procedural irregularities and violations of natural justice.
Presiding over the matter in Miscellaneous Cause No. 165 of 2025, Justice Bonny Isaac Teko held that the party’s Electoral Commission, chaired by Dr. Tanga Odoi, acted irrationally and unlawfully when it reversed an earlier declaration of Pascal Natamba as the duly elected Youth League Chairperson, without affording him a fair hearing.
The dispute stems from internal party elections conducted on May 25, 2025, in Kagadi District.
Three candidates – Pascal Natamba, Orbed Ambikize, and Herbert Niwagaba contested for the Youth League chairperson seat.
