In a defiant and emotionally charged declaration, Hon. Fiona Nakku, popularly known as “The Unbwogable,” has vowed that she remains in the race for National Female Youth Member of Parliament, despite a dramatic announcement by the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission disqualifying her from the contest.
On Monday 18th August 2025, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission has officially disqualified Nakku Fiona from contesting for the position of National Female Youth Member of Parliament flag bearer, citing age-related ineligibility.
The Commission cited age ineligibility based on a complaint filed by Amanya Aaron, through ABNO Advocates, and verified by the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA).
According to the letter, NIRA confirmed that Nakku does not meet the age requirement to vie for a youth position under the National Youth Council structure, thus rendering her ineligible for nomination as the party flag bearer.
Addressing a passionate group of loyal delegates at a dinner gathering in Nansana on Tuesday 19th August 2025, Nakku confidently reassured her supporters that no amount of propaganda or political machinations would deter her.
The event, which was meant to reflect on Nakku’s candidacy and galvanize morale among her team, quickly turned into a powerful show of solidarity.
Several political analysts have also weighed in, questioning the timing of the complaint and the transparency of the vetting process. Some argue that such decisions damage the credibility of the party’s internal democratic systems, especially when applied selectively.
Despite the setback, Nakku’s stance remains unshaken. Calling for clean politics and a “healthy, issues-based competition,” she slammed her opponents for resorting to blackmail and character assassination.
