Police in Ibanda District have launched investigations into the brutal murder of a Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) officer whose body was discovered dumped in a trench on π™Όπš˜πš—πšπšŠπš’ πš–πš˜πš›πš—πš’πš—πš πš‹πš’ πš™πšŠπšœπšœπšŽπš›πšœπš‹πš’.

The deceased has been identified as Sergeant Michael Anguru, a native of Katakwi District, who was attached to Kanyarugiri Army Barracks in Kanyarugiri Town Council, Ibanda District.

Confirming the incident, Maj. Kiconco Tabaro, the UPDF 2nd Infantry Division spokesperson, said the army is working closely with police to unravel the circumstances surrounding Anguru’s death.

According to preliminary investigations, Sgt. Anguru was last seen around midday πš˜πš— πš‚πšžπš—πšπšŠπš’ with a colleague in what appeared to be a routine engagement.
